This report aims to address the relationship between volunteering, active citizenship and community participation for young Australians. The project seeks to report those aspects of the relationship between students' demographic and school background variables, and active citizenship, which were conducive to greater participation. Variables considered include: gender, ethnicity, reading and writing achievement, socioeconomic status and geographic location.
